Plastirocks and plastiglomerate

We thought we’d invented the term plastiglomerate, but then it turned out that scientists who found the same stuff on the other side of the world had come up with the same name, for better reasons. Plastirocks and plastiglomerate have been found on remote islands off the coast of Brazil – read about it in the news, in a research article led by Fernanda Avelar Santos published in the Marine Pollution Bulletin, or in a conference poster by researchers Giovana Rebelo Diorio, Fernanda Avelar Santos and Gerson Fernandino.
